Thursday: 9am-1pm & 3-5pm
Friday: 9am-1pm
The 40 Hour Asana Teacher Training Course focuses on the practical aspects of teaching Ashtanga Yoga. This course will cover the teaching techniques of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga. The participants will learn safe and effective hands-on adjustments through partner work for all of the asanas in the series - beginning with the sun salutations and ending with savasana. In addition to adjustment techniques, participants will learn to talk each other through the series in a flowing and graceful manner. By the end of the course each participant will be able to talk another person through the full Primary Series in 90 minutes while making adjustments in every posture. The course will also include discussion of practicalities of conducting a class and yoga theory.
This is a deep immersion into the details underlying the practice and teaching of Ashtanga Yoga. One need not be a teacher to attend or even desire to be a teacher. Many participants attend simply to deepen there own practice. The course is open to all levels of practice, however, it is recommended to have a consistent personal practice of Ashtanga Yoga in order to gain the greatest benefits from the course.
David issues a Certificate of Participation at the conclusion of the course for students who complete the entire 40 hour program. Fee for the course is $895. Participants must pre-register, space is limited.
Please read our cancellation policy.
You may also want to consider attending David Swenson's Weekend Workshop scheduled after the conclusion of the training.
