Upon moving to Vermont in October of 2000 from the Detroit area, Katrina discovered yoga. While working at a wilderness therapy camp, Yoga Journal became her first instructor. Soon after starting her practice, Katrina introduced the youth she was working with and her coworkers to yoga, wanting to share the benefits she was reaping. In the winter of 2001, Katrina’s mentor told her about a fabulous yoga studio in Burlington, called Yoga Vermont. Since that winter Katrina has utilized many of the great teachers at Yoga Vermont to find the yoga style that best suits her.

Ashtanga classes with Kathy and Scott over the past 6 years have allowed Katrina to find her yogic path. The repetitive postures and steady breath of the practice help her stay centered in her daily life. Katrina works as a mental health counselor at a local elementary school, also teaching yoga to the kids during sessions and in the after school program. She is also currently enrolled in Yoga Vermont’s teacher training program (which is awesome!).

In her free time, Katrina enjoys hiking with her husband, Ben, and their great dog, Tiggs. Biking in the mountains and on the road, as well as, snowboarding in the winter round out her list of favorite things to do.
